<br />SAN MARCOS ELECTRIC UTILITY <br />ELECTRIC RATE SCHEDULES <br /> <br />MISCELLANEOUS SERVICE CHARGES <br />Rate Schedule - MSC <br /> <br />Effective: February 1, 2003 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />TEMPORARY OVERHEAD CONNECTION CHARGE <br /> <br />This charge shall be made for temporary overhead service at 120/240 volts, single phase, three wire, 60 Hertz when the <br />requested service is more than 90 feet from the point of delivered and/or requires special equipment installed by the City. <br />Temporary overhead electric service will be provided only after the customer has paid to the City, in advance, the <br />estimated cost of installing and removing the necessary overhead facilities. <br /> <br />SHORT-TERM SERVICE CHARGE <br /> <br />This charge shall be made when services is disconnected at the request of the customer within thirty (30) days from the <br />date service is first made available by the City. This charge shall be waived if a property owner or manager 1) has a <br />current "Read and Leave" program agreement on file with the Electric Utility Department, and 2) complies with all current <br />requirements of the Electric Utility Department for participating in the "Read and Leave" program. <br /> <br />"NO LIGHTS" SERVICE CALL CHARGE <br /> <br />This charge will be made when a customer calls the City to report "no lights" and requests the City dispatch a service <br />person to customer's premises, and it is determined that the "no lights" condition was caused by a problem with customer <br />owned wiring or a condition on the customer's side of the point of delivery. In the event a service person is dispatched <br />other than during normal business hours, the charge will be double. <br /> <br />\MPERING/THEFT OF SERVICE CHARGE <br /> <br />This is a minimum charge made for any incidence of tampering with the City's metering installation, interference with the <br />proper working thereof, any theft of service by any person on customer's premises, or evidence of such tampering, <br />interfering, or theft (energy diversion). The minimum charge shall be imposed for the detection and confirmation of energy <br />diversion. In addition, the customer shall pay the reconnect charge, the expenses of any damage to or replacement of the <br />City's equipment and the estimated cost of electric power and energy not recorded by the City's meters by reason of <br />energy diversion, at the applicable rate based on the City's best estimated data. <br /> <br />RETURNED CHECK OR BANK DRAFT CHARGE <br /> <br />This charge will be made for each check or bank draft returned without payment because of insufficient funds, account <br />closed or no account. <br /> <br />REQUESTED METER TEST CHARGE <br /> <br />This charge will apply when a meter test is made at the customer's request, the meter been tested at the customer's <br />request within the previous 24 months, and the meter is found to be within the accuracy standards established by the <br />American National Standard Institute. <br /> <br />CONFIDENTIALITY REQUEST CHARGE <br /> <br />This charge will apply when a Customer submits a written request to the City under Section 182.052 of the Texas Utilities <br />Code for confidentiality of personal information. <br /> <br />C:\TEMP\Electric Utility rate schedules- 11-02.doc <br />
