<br />61. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001- 36 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS CHANGING THE TITLE OF THE <br />"BOND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE" TO THE "BOND <br />ADVISORY COMMITTEE"; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City Council adopted a Resolution 1998-227R on December 7, 1998 establishing <br />a Bond Oversight Committee, and the Council adopted Resolution 1999-11R on January 11, <br />1999 to clarify the duties and role of the Committee. <br /> <br />2. The City Council has begun the process of adopting an ordinance to establish an <br />ongoing Transportation Commission that will assume some of the duties of the Bond Oversight <br />Committee. <br /> <br />3. The City Council wishes to change the title of the "Bond Oversight Committee" to the <br />"Bond Advisory Committee," and wishes to revise the duties of this committee. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. A Bond Advisory Committee is established in connection with the bonds <br />approved by the voters at the November 3, 1998 special election, and other projects <br />recommended by the 1997-98 Blue Ribbon Bond Committee. The Bond Advisory Committee <br />consists of seven members appointed by the City Council. One of the members will represent the <br />San Marcos Council of Neighborhood Associations, one will represent the Greenbelt Alliance of <br />San Marcos, two will have served on the 1997-98 Blue Ribbon Bond Committee, and all will be <br />residents of the City. Members of the Committee serve at the will of the Council. The Council <br />will make appointments to fill vacancies on the Committee. <br /> <br />PART 2. The purpose of the Committee is to serve as an advisory body to the City <br />Council on the implementation of the projects included in the bonds approved by the voters at the <br />November 3, 1998 special election and other projects recommended by the 1997-98 Blue Ribbon <br />Bond Committee. The Committee will be staffed by the Director of the Public Works <br />Department and/or the Director of the Environment and Engineering Department. The <br />Committee will meet as needed and will: <br /> <br />· consult with staff and receive copies of staff reports concerning progress on the approved <br />bond projects, and other projects recommended by the 1997-98 Blue Ribbon Bond <br />Committee. <br /> <br />· prepare summary status and recommendation reports for the City Council and the Planning <br />
