170. RESOLUTION 2001 - 65 R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS REQUESTING AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT GRANT FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AGREEING TO SUPPORT THE PROJECT AND TO NEGOTIATE AN AIRPORT PROJECT PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT WITH TXDOT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT IN ALL MATTERS REGARDING THIS AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT GRANT AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. The City of San Marcos (City) intends to make certain improvements to the San Marcos Municipal Airport. 2. The general description of the project is described as an upgrade of existing San Marcos Airport signage and other improvements as a prerequisite to achieving 14 CFR Part 139 Airport Certification to accommodate larger aircraft. 3. The City is currently eligible for federal Non-Primary Entitlement of up to $150,000.00. 4. The estimated project cost is $166,667.00, of which 10% or $16,667.00 will be provided by the City. 5. The City has available and will provide at least 10% of the project costs with local funds and understands that the above mentioned entitlement funds cannot be increased. 6. The City names the Texas Department of Transportation as its agent for the purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements and for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of these improvements. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The City Council directs the City Manager, Larry D. Gilley to execute on behalf of the City of San Marcos, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations of this governing body, all contracts and agreements with the State of Texas, represented by the Texas Department of Transportation, and such other parties as shall be necessary and appropriate forthe implementation of the improvements to the San Marcos Municipal Airport.
