<br />170. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2001 - 65 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS REQUESTING AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT GRANT FUNDING <br />FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR CERTAIN <br />IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; <br />AGREEING TO SUPPORT THE PROJECT AND TO NEGOTIATE AN <br />AIRPORT PROJECT PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT WITH TXDOT; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT IN ALL MATTERS <br />REGARDING THIS AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT GRANT AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City of San Marcos (City) intends to make certain improvements to the <br />San Marcos Municipal Airport. <br /> <br />2. The general description of the project is described as an upgrade of existing <br />San Marcos Airport signage and other improvements as a prerequisite to achieving 14 CFR <br />Part 139 Airport Certification to accommodate larger aircraft. <br /> <br />3. The City is currently eligible for federal Non-Primary Entitlement of up to <br />$150,000.00. <br /> <br />4. The estimated project cost is $166,667.00, of which 10% or $16,667.00 will <br />be provided by the City. <br /> <br />5. The City has available and will provide at least 10% of the project costs with <br />local funds and understands that the above mentioned entitlement funds cannot be <br />increased. <br /> <br />6. The City names the Texas Department of Transportation as its agent for the <br />purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements and <br />for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of these <br />improvements. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The City Council directs the City Manager, Larry D. Gilley to execute <br />on behalf of the City of San Marcos, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate <br />authorizations of this governing body, all contracts and agreements with the State of <br />Texas, represented by the Texas Department of Transportation, and such other parties as <br />shall be necessary and appropriate forthe implementation of the improvements to the San <br />Marcos Municipal Airport. <br />
