L <br />RESOLUTION 2011- 8 9 R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS FINDING A 1999 CHEVROLET TAHOE UTILIZED <br />BY THE CITY'S POLICE DEPARTMENT TO BE SURPLUS AND OF NO <br />VALUE TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS; AUTHORIZING THE <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT TO DONATE THIS VEHICLE TO THE HAYS <br />COUNTY CONSTABLE'S OFFICE, PRECINCT THREE; TRANSFERING <br />TITLE FOR THE VEHICLE TO THE HAYS COUNTY CONSTABLE'S <br />OFFICE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City owns and recently retired a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe (the "vehicle ") <br />because it is no longer fit to withstand the demands of police patrol and is therefore surplus and <br />of no value to the City. <br />2. The Hays County Constable's Office (the "Hays County Constable's Office ") <br />wants to acquire a serviceable vehicle that can be used in the rocky terrain of the County and has <br />asked to acquire this vehicle. <br />3. The City wishes to donate and transfer title to the vehicle to the Constable's <br />• Office. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City Council finds and determines that a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe, Unit <br />#166 -910, VIN# 1GNEC13R9XR153177 is surplus and of no value to the City of San Marcos. <br />PART 2. The Police Department is authorized to donate and transfer title to and donate <br />this vehicle to the Hays County Constable's Office. <br />PART 3. The City Manager is authorized to execute any necessary documents <br />facilitating the transfer of title to this vehicle. <br />PART 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its <br />passage. <br />ADOPTED this the 19th day of July, 2011. <br />• <br />
