<br />43. <br /> <br />Professional Services Agreement <br />Section 1. Parties. This agreement is between the City of San Marcos (the <br />"City"), a Texas municipal corporation, and Dr. Jeff Jorgensen (the "Veterinarian"), an <br />individual and a doctor of veterinary medicine licensed by the State of Texas. <br />Section 2. Work to be Performed by Veterinarian. The City agrees to engage <br />the services of the Veterinarian, and the Veterinarian agrees to provide to the City the <br />following services: <br />A. A monthly inspection of the City Animal Shelter, in accordance with State law <br />requirements. <br />B. A visit to the City Animal Shelter at least three times per month, on days <br />agreed upon by the Veterinarian and the City's Animal Control Division Manager, to <br />check the health of impounded animals and to administer any care required. The <br />provision of care by the Veterinarian for individual animals will be compensated <br />according to the pricing schedule in Section 3 of this agreement, and such care is not <br />included in the $105.00 per month retainer referred to in Section 3.A. of this agreement. <br />If the requested care is not stated in the pricing schedule, then the Veterinarian will <br />charge his regular rates (including emergency/after hours rates, if applicable) in effect at <br />the time and such care will only be performed with the prior approval of the City's <br />representati ve. <br />C. Administration of shots, spay/neuter services, and check up of all dogs/cats <br />selected by the City staff to participate in the City's pet adoption program. These services <br />will be performed at the Veterinarian's office on a schedule agreed upon by the <br />Veterinarian and the City's Animal Control Division Manager. City personnel will drop <br />the animals off at the office in the morning and pick them up by the close of business that <br />same day. <br />D. Administer shots in the City's annual rabies vaccination clinic. All expenses <br />reasonably incurred by the Veterinarian will be credited against the amount payable by <br />the Veterinarian to the City pursuant to that separate agreement refenoed to in Section 3.e. <br />of this agreement. <br />E. Honor vouchers for low cost spay/neuter services issued by City personnel.
