<br />54. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2001 - 106 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION <br />TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ("TXDOT") FOR <br />A DOWNTOWN SIDEWALK RENOVATION EXTENSION PROJECT; <br />APPROVING THE CITY'S EXPENDITURE OF LOCAL MATCHING FUNDS <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S <br />BEHALF WITH REGARD TO THE SUBMISSION OF THIS APPLICATION <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. TXDoT has announced that approximately $130 million in grant funding is <br />available for the Statewide Transportation Enhancement Program. <br /> <br />2 The City wishes to submit an application to TXDoT for grant funding for a <br />downtown sidewalk renovation extension project. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The submission of a grant application to TXDoT for grant funding for <br />a downtown sidewalk renovation extension project on both sides of LBJ Drive from Hopkins <br />Street to Hutchison Street and down the west side of Hutchison from LBJ. to the Old Fish <br />Hatchery is approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City's expenditure of approximately $400,000.00 in local matching <br />funds is approved. <br /> <br />PART 3. The City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is authorized to execute and submit <br />this grant application and related documents on the City's behalf. <br /> <br />PART 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and <br />after its passage. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this the 11 th day of <br /> <br />June <br /> <br />,2001. <br /> <br />1'1 at, <br />David Chiu <br />Mayor <br /> <br />
