The San Marcos City Council reconvened into regular session at 6:52 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2011. The City Council provide direction to staff as needed during Executive Session. 3. COUNCIL MEMBER UPDATES: Receive status reports and updates from the Mavor and /or Council Members and a general discussion regarding the following Council Member Porterfield - Report on the National League of Cities Youth Education and Families Steering Committee meeting. Council Member Terry — Update on CAPCOG Executive Committee and an update on the Aging Advisory Council of CAPCOG. Council Member Porterfield requested that her item be postponed at this time, and requested that it be brought back as a possible discussion item. Having a consensus of the Council the Council directed staff to place a discussion item on a future agenda regarding the National League of Cities Youth Education and Families Steering Committee. Council Member Terry provided his report on his July CAPCOG Executive Committee meeting and the Aging Advisory Council of CAPCOG. At both meetings Sara McGhee, Benefits Counselor for the Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area, presented information regarding benefits counseling, the MIPPA Grant (Medicare Improvements for Patients and Provider) the Area Agency on Aging has received to expand, extend, and enhance outreach efforts to beneficiaries focusing special attention to Texans with limited incomes who reside in rural areas, the Agency's focus, performance measurement requirements, and current outreach projects. Following Mr. Terry's update the Council directed staff to place this item on a future agenda to provide for MS. McGhee to present this presentation to Council and also to arrange for this presentation to be presented at the Price Senior Center. 4. Receive staff presentation re ag rding LEED /Sustainable design practices with re gards to multi - familv residential development, and provide direction to staff. Christine Holmes, Chief Planner, provided the Mayor and Council with a presentation regarding LEED and Sustainable design practices with regards to multi - family residential development. Following the presentation Council directed staff to look through LEED requirements as they are going through their implementation process and how some of these things may be incorporated into the LDC discussions, provide a breakdown of LEED NC in a future EBox and to include these into the scope of work in Mr. Singleton's contract. 5.
