under the provisions of a real estate lien note and deed of trust with the Master's School of San <br />Marcos, Inc. <br />The Executive Session adjourned at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2011. <br />2.2 Consider adoption or direction to Staff on matters discussed in Executive Session. <br />The San Marcos City Council reconvened into regular session at 6:52 p.m. on Tuesday, August <br />2, 2011. The City Council provide direction to staff as needed during Executive Session. <br />3. COUNCIL MEMBER UPDATES: <br />Receive status reports and updates from the Mavor and /or Council Members and a general <br />discussion regarding the following <br />Council Member Porterfield - Report on the National League of Cities Youth Education <br />and Families Steering Committee meeting. <br />Council Member Terry — Update on CAPCOG Executive Committee and an update on the <br />Aging Advisory Council of CAPCOG. <br />Council Member Porterfield requested that her item be postponed at this time, and requested that <br />it be brought back as a possible discussion item. Having a consensus of the Council the Council <br />directed staff to place a discussion item on a future agenda regarding the National League of <br />Cities Youth Education and Families Steering Committee. <br />Council Member Terry provided his report on his July CAPCOG Executive Committee meeting <br />and the Aging Advisory Council of CAPCOG. At both meetings Sara McGhee, Benefits <br />Counselor for the Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area, presented information regarding <br />benefits counseling, the MIPPA Grant (Medicare Improvements for Patients and Provider) the <br />Area Agency on Aging has received to expand, extend, and enhance outreach efforts to <br />beneficiaries focusing special attention to Texans with limited incomes who reside in rural <br />areas, the Agency's focus, performance measurement requirements, and current outreach <br />projects. Following Mr. Terry's update the Council directed staff to place this item on a future <br />agenda to provide for MS. McGhee to present this presentation to Council and also to arrange <br />for this presentation to be presented at the Price Senior Center. <br />4. Receive staff presentation re ag rding LEED /Sustainable design practices with re gards to <br />multi - familv residential development, and provide direction to staff. <br />Christine Holmes, Chief Planner, provided the Mayor and Council with a presentation regarding <br />LEED and Sustainable design practices with regards to multi - family residential development. <br />Following the presentation Council directed staff to look through LEED requirements as they are <br />going through their implementation process and how some of these things may be incorporated <br />into the LDC discussions, provide a breakdown of LEED NC in a future EBox and to include <br />these into the scope of work in Mr. Singleton's contract. <br />5.
