<br />INVITATION FOR BIDS
<br />
<br />HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS will receive bids for Ce-
<br />dar Oaks Mesa W.S.C. Water System Improve-
<br />ments, Hays County, Texas (TCDP 720311) until
<br />Thursday, May 31, 2001 @ 2:00 p.m. at the Hays
<br />County Courthouse, 111 E. San Antonio St., Suite
<br />101, San Marcos, Texas 78666. The bids will be
<br />publicly opened and read aloud at that time.
<br />
<br />Bids are invited for the several items and quanti-
<br />ties of work as follows:
<br />
<br />66,000 Gallon Bolted Steel Ground Storage
<br />Tank & Related Items.
<br />
<br />Bid/Contract Documents including Drawings and
<br />Technical Specifications are on file at the office of
<br />the Engineer, HEJL, LEE & ASSOCIATES, INC.,
<br />601 Farley Drive, Austin, Texas 78753 (phone
<br />512-836-1848)
<br />
<br />Copies of the Bid Documents and plans may be
<br />obtained by depositing $50.00 (non-refundable)
<br />with the Engineer for each set of documents ob-
<br />tained.
<br />
<br />A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued
<br />by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with
<br />each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to
<br />Hays County or negotiable U.S. Government
<br />Bonds (as per value) may be submitted in lieu of
<br />the Bid Bond.
<br />
<br />Attention is called to the fact that not less than the
<br />federally determined prevailing (David-Bacon)
<br />wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of
<br />Housing and Community Affairs and contained in
<br />the contract documents, must be paid on this proj-
<br />ect. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure
<br />that employees and applicants for employment are
<br />not discriminated against because of their race,
<br />color, religion, sex or national origin.
<br />
<br />HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS reserves the right to re-
<br />ject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in
<br />the bidding.
<br />
<br />Bids may be held by HAYS COUNTY for a period
<br />not to exceed 30 days from the date of the bid
<br />opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and
<br />investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the
<br />contract award.
<br />
<br />HAYS COUNTY will requir~ a "separate contracf'
<br />that separates labor and other services from the
<br />tangible personal property that will be purchased
<br />by the contractor for use in the project. This re-
<br />quirement is in response to Section 14.07 of 1
<br />House Bill 11 regarding the application of the
<br />Sales Tax to government construction contracts.
