<br />147. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2001- <br /> <br />129 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, RATIFYING A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE BUREAU <br />OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE FORA LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK <br />GRANT; APPROVING A GRANT CONTRACT WITH THE BUREAU OF <br />JUSTICE ASSISTANCE FOR A LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK <br />GRANT; APPROVING THE CONTRIBUTION OF MATCHING FUNDS BY <br />THE CITY AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL <br />GRANT RELATED DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City applied for grant assistance from the Bureau of Justice Assistance <br />(BJA) for FY 2001 for the Police Department. <br /> <br />2 The City has received notification that the BJA has approved a Local Law <br />Enforcement Block Grant ("LLEBG") for FY 2001 for the Police Department. <br /> <br />3. The City wishes to wishes to accept the grant from the BJA in the amount of <br />$40,273.00 for the Police Department. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The Police Department's submission of a LLEBG application for FY <br />2001 foto the BJA is ratified. <br /> <br />PART 2. The attached BJA FY 2000 LLEBG grant documents for the Police <br />Department are approved and accepted. <br /> <br />PART 3. <br /> <br />That the City's match of $4,475.00 in local funds is approved. <br /> <br />PART 4. The City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is authorized to execute all grant <br />related documents on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 5.
