THE CITY OF' <br />SAN MARCOS <br />FINANCE - PURCHASING <br />ADDENDUM #2 <br />April 19, 2011 <br />A. This addendum will be considered a part of the Telecommunication Services Project RFP 211- <br />037. Where provisions of this addendum differ from those of the original Contract Documents, this <br />addendum will govern. <br />B. QUESTIONS: The following questions were asked: <br />1. In regards to the Telecommunication Services RFP we are interested in understanding if the <br />City would entertain an alternate proposal for a solution that would replace the PBX via a <br />Cloud based VoIP solution. The solution would... <br />• Include all Long Distance Charges <br />• Replace the need for PRI T -1's <br />• Significantly reduce the number of POTS lines needed <br />• Provide remote management capability for all locations via a web portal <br />• Include reporting and call quality monitoring tools <br />• Include built in redundancy and disaster recovery options <br />If this alternative is of interest we would have several additional questions that would need to <br />be addressed and would recommend a demonstration of the solution. <br />The City is not interested in any alternative solutions. <br />2. Would it be possible to provide a copy of this RFP in WORD format for response preparation? <br />The City is not providing the RFP in any other formats. <br />3. In reading the RFP, I noticed that your city uses a number of Nortel systems and I am <br />interested in contacting the manager in charge of these PBX's. Do you handle these systems <br />upgrades and maintenance also? <br />The City has a contract with Blackbox Network Services for these services. <br />4. 1 was reviewing your RFP on the State and federal bids.com site and was wondering if <br />Conferencing was or will be a requirement to your upgrade? Do you have anything in place for <br />conferencing in case of an emergency?
