<br />238. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-l..i,LR <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF <br />HAYS COUNTY CITIES FROM REGION 7 TO REGION 10 <br />OF THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE; AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, towns, villages and cities within Hays County that are members of the Texas Municipal <br />League (TML) are presently a part ofTML Region 7, as depicted on the attached Exhibit A; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, while Hays County communities have enjoyed a close association with many TML <br />Region 7 cities, and with the TML Region 7 organization, Hays County is geographically closer to <br />TML Region lO, as depicted on the attached Exhibit B; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, portions of Hays County have been formally designated as a part of the Austin-San <br />Marcos metropolitan statistical area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the transfer of towns, villages and cities within Hays County from TML Region 7 to <br />TML Region 10 would allow greater participation in TML regional activities by Hays County <br />communities because of their geographic proximity to TML Region 10; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the approval by all towns, villages and cities within Hays County of the transfer from <br />TML Region 7 to TML Region 10 is necessary before TML can effect this change; now therefore <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The City of San Marcos approves of the transfer of Hays County towns, villages and cities <br />from Texas Municipal League Region 7 to Texas Municipal League Region 10. <br /> <br />PART 2.
