<br />227. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2001 - 214 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br />APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF A MUTUAL AID LAW ENFORCEMENT <br />TASK FORCE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY, HAYS COUNTY, CITY OF KYLE, <br />AND SOUTHWEST TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />AND CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos has the authority, pursuant to Chapter 362 of the <br />Texas Local Government Code, and Chapter 791 of the Government Code, to enter into <br />an agreement to form a mutual aid law enforcement task force to cooperate in criminal <br />investigations and law enforcement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Hays County, the City of Kyle, and Southwest Texas <br />State University each have a need to reduce underage drinking and find that this reduction <br />will be more achievable by sharing resources and working together; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That the Mutual Aid Law Enforcement Task Force Agreement between <br />the City of San Marcos, Hays County, the City of Kyle, and Southwest Texas State <br />University, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein for all intents and <br />purposes, is hereby approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. That the City Manager, Larry Gilley, and the Chief of Police, Steve <br />Griffith, of the City of San Marcos are hereby authorized to execute this Agreement on <br />behalf of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />PART 3. <br />its passage. <br /> <br />That this resolution shall become effective immediately from and after <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 1 7thday of December 2001. <br /> <br />~.~~ <br /> <br />David Chiu <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Attest: : <br />.. j <br />~lt~1~~~~ <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />
