<br />...~ ~ <br /> <br /> <br />image 62 <br /> <br />o Maintenance Criteria <br /> <br /> <br />image 63 <br /> <br /> <br />image 64 <br /> <br />As noted elsewhere, all building elements, materials, and systems shall be <br />selected to minimize the need for ongoing maintenance. <br /> <br />· Building design should promote the efficient storage and processing of <br />recyclable materials. <br /> <br />· The maintenance needs of the buildings shall be such that they can be <br />performed without specialized training or equipment. <br /> <br />· The building energy systems should be designed so as to promote efficient <br />usage by the building users. <br /> <br />· Install energy efficient and long-lasting interior and exterior lighting in order to <br />reduce demand for electrical lighting and the need to change light bulbs <br />frequently. <br /> <br />· Exterior mechanical equipment (e.g. compressors) should be located and <br />screened so as minimize visual and acoustical disturbance. <br /> <br />· Locate mechanical equipment where it is least likely to be damaged, yet where <br />it can be accessed and repaired with minimal disturbance to visitors.
