<br />107 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2000- 1 "i R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR <br />QUALITY EDUCATION IN SAN MARCOS AND FOR THE <br />Efr :1RTS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SAN <br />MARCOS CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL <br />DISTRICT TO IMPROVE EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS <br /> <br />1. The Board of Trustees of the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District (the <br />"School District") has called an election for February 12,2000 on the proposed issuance of $78.6 <br />million in bonds (the "Bonds") for the construction of new facilities and the renovation of <br />existing facilities. <br /> <br />2. The City Council wishes to express its support for quality education in San Marcos and for <br />the efforts of the School District's Board of Trustees to improve educational standards in the <br />School District, while leaving the issue of approval of the Bonds to the decision of individual <br />citizens of the ScJ'''ol District. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The City Council supports quality education in San Marcos, and the efforts of the <br />School District's Board of Trustees to improve educational standards in the School District. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City Council urges all qualified voters of the School District to express their views <br />on the Bonds by voting in the February 12,2000 election. <br /> <br />PART 3.
