It will be located
behind the newly completed Interpretive Center. This Center was established to increase
public awareness and educate our community about basic ecological concepts as related
to the San Marcos River and its watershed, and how to conserve these natural resources.
The Wildscape will be the "hands-on" avenue to accomplish these goals, and the Center's
programs will be built around the Wildscape.

The total Wildscape project cost is $39,710 and we are requesting $19,880 from the
TPWD Community Outdoor Outreach Program grant. The remainder is covered through
in-kind services and city funding.

Thank you for your consideration of this project. Our contact number is 393-8400, if you
have any questions.

Sincerely,

I~ I~w~

Melani Howard
Watershed Protection Manager

~~A~

Sherrill Solum
Watershed Protection Supervisor

Parks & Recreation · 630 East Hopkins · San Marcos, Texas 78666 · 512/393-8400 · FAX 512/353-7273
