9 1.07 Subject: Correspondence to GTE on inclusion/exclusion of certain telephone numbers Reference: ACSEC policy Source: Policy: 91.08 Subject: May 5, 1998 letter to GTE A letter was sent from the ACSEC regarding the inclusion and exclusion of various types of telephone numbers in the GTE data base, specifically numbers with no real phone numbers attached to them and numbers that mayor may not forward ANI for display. The ACSEC once again requested that letters to regional councils be discontinued until such time as the Commission has reached a resolution for these types of issues. Foreign Exchanges Reference: ACSEC response Source: Policy: ~ 1.09 Subject: January 23, 1998 Commission meeting follow-up memo Advanced telecommunications services, such as Integrated Service Digital Network (ISDN), are available to local exchange telephone companies, such as SWBT and GTE, for the provisioning of the service through a Foreign Exchange (FX) arrangement from a Central Office (CO) other than the one servicing the end user customer. It was stated that this type of arrangement ~n result in the improper routing of 9-1-1 calls in certain situations including direct trunking configurations and where FX-provisioned ISDN service is from a CO not served by the same 9-1-1 tandem. ACSEC stated that it will be seeking additional information so that we will be better able to understand the individual network applications and communicate them with the 9-1-1 community.
