On February 22 ,2000, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City <br />of San Marcos held a public hearing regarding a request to change the zoning from <br />unzoned and "R-1" Single-Family Dwelling District (Low Density) to "MF-2" Multi-Family <br />District (Medium Density) for a 15.80 acre tract of property located in the 1800 Block of <br />Ranch Road 12, and to change the zoning for a 42.48 acre tract of property located off of <br />the 1800 Block of Ranch Road 12 from Unzoned and "R-1" Single-family Dwelling District <br />(Low Density) to "P" Public District. <br /> <br />2. Subsequent to the public hearing on that date, the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission did, on February 22 ,2000 consider and vote to approve the request, and <br />has recommended that the request be approved by the City Council of the City. <br /> <br />3. The City Council held a public hearing on March 6 <br />the request. <br /> <br />,2000, regarding <br /> <br />4. All requirements of Chapter 114, Zoning, of the San Marcos City Code pertaining <br />to zoning map amendments have been met. <br /> <br />5. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the adoption of the following <br />ordinance is in the interest of the public health, morals, welfare and safety. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. The Official Zoning Map of the City, as described in Section 114.029 <br />of the San Marcos City Code, is amended to zone and rezone the following real property <br />which is presently, in part, unzoned, and in part, zoned "R-1" Single-Family Dwelling <br />District (Low Density) to "MF-2" Multi-Family District (Medium Density): <br /> <br />Street address: <br /> <br />1800 Block of Ranch Road 12 <br /> <br />Size: 15.80 acres. <br /> <br />Legal description: See the metes and bounds description attached as Exhibit A. <br />Deed or plat reference: Volume 237, page 314, Hays County Deed Records. <br /> <br />SECTION 2.
