<br />C. Neighborhoods & Housing <br /> <br />1. Continue CDBG rehabilitation program and evaluate new ways to provide <br />funding for housing renovation. <br /> <br />2. Evaluate the creation of City Code Compliance Officer. <br /> <br />3. Create infrastructure to encourage the construction of affordable housing. <br /> <br />4. Strongly encourage the Housing Authority to build owner-occupied <br />housing and to convert existing rental units to owner occupied housing. <br /> <br />5. Seek leveraging partnerships to develop affordable housing. <br /> <br />IV Assure a high quality of life for all residents of San Marcos <br /> <br />A. Social Services <br /> <br />1. Establish social service funding for FY 2000-2001 at a level of <br />$305,000 plus an additional $20,000 set aside for future <br />funding of youth services building. <br /> <br />2. Explore acquiring a City building for social services programs. <br /> <br />B. Customer Service <br /> <br />1. Continue our commitment to provide high quality service. <br /> <br />2. Ensure that departments are adequately staffed to maintain quality <br />Standards. <br /> <br />3. Continue review of user fees in order to maintain appropriate levels of <br />funding for services provided. <br /> <br />C. Parks & Recreation <br /> <br />1. Continue funding programs for all ages. <br /> <br />2. Implement Parks Master Plan. <br /> <br />3. Cooperate with SMCISD to explore new ways of sharing resources. <br />
