Early votmg by mail ballot shall be conducted m accordance WIth applIcable provIsIons of the Texas ElectIon Code The address of 401-C Broadway, San Marcos, Texas 78666, shall be the early votmg clerk's maIlmg address to whIch ballot applIcatIons and ballots voted by mail may be sent for the CIty SECTION 9 All early votes and other votes to be processed m accordance WIth early votmg procedures pursuant to the Texas ElectIon Code shall be dehvered to the Early Votmg Ballot Board at the Hays County ElectIon AdmmIstrator's office whIch IS located m the CIty, m accordance WIth the ElectIon Code Early votes shall be counted at the central countmg statIon. The Early V otmg Ballot Board shall perform m accordance WIth apphcable provlSlons of the ElectIon Code SECTION 10 A Duect Record Electromc ("DRE") System, as the term IS defined m the Texas ElectIon Code, shall be utIhzed m connectIOn WIth the electIOn. ThIS system shall be utIlIzed for all early votmg as well as for all precmct votmg conducted on electIOn day Jeff MCGIll IS appomted as programmer, and shall prepare a program for the automatIc tabulatmg eqUIpment. Ample votmg eqUIpment shall be prOVIded for early votmg and m each of the vanous precmcts on electIOn day The central countmg statIOn IS establIshed as the Hays County ElectIOns AdmmIstrator's office, 401-C Broadway, San Marcos, Texas. SECTION 11 The City CounCil Will, by resolutIOn, appomt the Early V otmg Ballot Board, a PresIdmg Judge of the Central Countmg StatIon, a TabulatIOn SupervIsor of the Central Countmg StatIon, and a Central Countmg StatIon Manager, and any and all aSSIstants appomted by the PresIdmg Judge and TabulatIOn SupervIsor shall be subJect to the approval of the CIty CounCIl. SECTION 12 The electIOn wIll be held m accordance WIth the provlSlons of the Charter and Ordmances of the CIty of San Marcos and the laws of the State of Texas SECTION 13. An executed copy of thIS Ordmance WIll serve as proper notIce of the electIOn. SECTION 14 NotIce of the electIOn, mcludmg a Spamsh translatIOn thereof, WIll be pubhshed at least once m a newspaper pubhshed m San Marcos on or after November 27,2005 Election-Runoff 2005 3
