ORDINANCE NO. 2011- 52 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP FROM "P" PUBLIC TO "MDR" MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL FOR A 0.182 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT 525 WEST HUTCHISON STREET; AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING THIS TRACT FROM "P" PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL DISTRICT TO "MF -12" MULTIPLE - FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS RECITALS: 1. On September 13, 2011, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of San Marcos held public hearings regarding a request to change the Future Land Use Map of the San Marcos Horizons City Master Plan from "P" Public to "MDR" Medium Density Residential, and a concurrent request to change the zoning from "P" Public and Institutional District to "MF -12" Multiple - Family Residential District, for a 0.182 acre, more or less, tract of land located at 525 West Hutchison Street. 2. Subsequent to the public hearings on that date, the Planning and Zoning Commission considered and voted to approve the requests on September 13, 2011, and recommended that the requests be approved by the City Council of the City. 3. The City Council held a public hearing on October 4, 2011 regarding the requests. 4. All requirements of Chapter 1, Development Procedures, of the City Land Development Code pertaining to Future Land Use Map Amendments and Zoning Map amendments have been met. 5. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the adoption of the following ordinance is in the interest of the public health, morals, welfare and safety. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The Future Land Use Plan of the San Marcos Horizons City Master Plan is revised to change the future land use designation for the following real property from "P" Public to "MDR" Medium Density Residential: Street address: 525 West Hutchison Street Size: 0.182 acres, more or less
