<br />Votes for Proposition No. 14: 1419 <br />Votes against Proposition No. 14: 462 <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO. 15 <br /> <br />The non-binding proposal to authorize and recommend that the City Council <br />negotiate with the State of Texas and Southwest Texas State University for <br />the City's acquisition of the property commonly known as the Aquarena <br />Springs property, including the Spring Lake Dam and associated water <br />rights, and the restaurant site adjacent to the Spring Lake Dam, for a cost <br />not to exceed the fair market value of the property, as an addition to the city's <br />parks and greenspace system, with costs for conversion to park and <br />greenspace use not to exceed the acquisition cost of the property. <br /> <br />Votes for Proposition No. 15: 1348 <br />Votes against Proposition No. 15: 750 <br /> <br />SECTION 4.The amendments to the City Charter in the following Propositions <br />having passed: NO.1 through 14, inclusive; these amendments shall take effect from and <br />after the effective date of this ordinance. <br /> <br />SECTION 5. The importance of this Ordinance creates an emergency and an <br />imperative public necessity, and the provisions of the Charter requiring that ordinances be <br />presented at three separate meetings, and that ordinances do not take effect until ten (10) <br />days after the date of final passage are suspended, and this Ordinance will take effect <br />upon publication of notice of its adoption in a newspaper of general circulation in the City. <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this the 9th day of <br /> <br />May, 2000. <br /> <br />&~~.~ <br /> <br />Billy G.
