<br />37. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2000- 112 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES <br />TO SERVE IN A SPECIAL RUNOFF ELECTION BY THE CITY TO BE HELD <br />ON JUNE 3, 2000; CHARGING THE JUDGES WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD <br />THIS ELECTION IN THEIR RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACES FOR EACH <br />PRECINCT; APPOINTING AN EARLY VOTING BALLOT BOARD; <br />APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING <br />STATION, A TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING <br />STATION, AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION MANAGER; <br />APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE <br />CENTRAL COUNTING STATION OF CERTAIN CLERKS; APPROVING <br />THE APPOINTMENT BY THE TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN <br />ASSISTANTS; APPROVING THEAPPOINTMENT BYTHE EARL YVOTING <br />CLERK OF CERTAIN DEPUTY EARLY VOTING CLERKS, AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. On May 9, 2000 the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted an <br />ordinance ordering the holding of a special runoff election by the City on June 3, 2000, <br />establishing the rate of compensation to be paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the <br />tabulation supervisor for services rendered during the election, making provision for the <br />conduct of the election and other provisions incident to the purposes thereof, and declaring <br />an emergency. <br /> <br />2. Section 4 of that ordinance provides that the City Council of the City shall by <br />resolution duly adopted, appoint presiding and alternate judges to serve in the election at <br />the polling places for the respective precincts set forth in Section 3 therecf, and that <br />ordinance further ordains that it shall be each judge's duty to hold the election in the <br />precincts and that any vacancies occurring after the appointment of the judges may be <br />filled by subsequent resolution(s) of the City Council. <br /> <br />3. Section 11 of that ordinance provides that the City Council of the City shall, by <br />resolution duly adopted, appoint the Early Voting Ballot Board, a Presiding Judge of the <br />Central Counting Station, a Tabulation Supervisor of the Central Counting Station, and a <br />Central Counting Station Manager. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1.
