On April 25, 2000, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of San <br />Marcos held a public hearing regarding a request to change the zoning from "I" <br />Industrial District to "MF-2" Multi-Family District on a 22.8 acre tract of property located <br />in the 1500 block of IH-35 South, and to change the zoning from "I" Industrial District to <br />"C" Commercial District for 4.340 and 2.847 acre tracts of property located in the 1500 <br />block of IH-35 South. <br /> <br />2. Subsequent to the public hearing on that date, the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission did, on April 25, 2000 consider and vote to approve the request, and has <br />recommended that the request be approved by the City Council of the City. <br /> <br />3. The City Council held a public hearing on the 22nil <br />May , 2000, regarding the request. <br /> <br />4. All requirements of Chapter 114, Zoning, of the San Marcos City Code <br />pertaining to zoning map amendments have been met. <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />5. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the adoption of the <br />following ordinance is in the interest of the public health, morals, welfare and safety. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. The Official Zoning Map of the City, as described in Section <br />114.029 of the San Marcos City Code, is amended to rezone the following real <br />property, which is presently zoned "I" Industrial District, to "MF-2" Multi-Family District <br />(Medium Density): <br /> <br />Street address: 1500 block of IH-35 South. <br /> <br />Size: 22.8 acres. <br /> <br />Leqal description: See the metes and bounds description attached as Exhibit A. <br /> <br />Deed or plat reference: The parent tract is described in Volume 948, page 759, <br />Hays County Official Public Records. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. The Official Zoning Map of the City, as described in Section <br />114.029 of the San Marcos City Code, is amended to rezone the following two tracts of <br />real property which are presently zoned "I" Industrial District to "C" Commercial District: <br /> <br />Street address: 1500 block of IH-35 South. <br /> <br />Size: 4.340 acres and 2.847 acres. <br />
