<br />88. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2000 - 118 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE ALLOCATION OF 2000 COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING; APPROVING THE <br />CONSOLIDATED PLAN FOR FISCAL YEARS 2000 THROUGH 2004; <br />AUTHORIZING THE PUBLICATION OF THE CONSOLIDATED PLAN; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT AS THE OFFICIAL <br />REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITY TO ACT IN MATTERS RELATED TO <br />THE GRANT PROGRAM AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1 . The City has received notice from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development (HUD) that entitlement funding has been approved under the Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for specific authorized programs for fiscal year <br />2000. <br /> <br />2. The San Marcos City Council has solicited extensive citizen participation in <br />determining the use of the CDBG entitlement funds. <br /> <br />3. The City is required to approve a Consolidated Plan for the City for fiscal <br />years 2000-2004 which is made up of an Action Plan and a Strategic Plan. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The following allocation of 2000 CDBG funding in the total amount of <br />$713,000.00 is approved: <br /> <br />1. Neighborhood Sidewalk Program $200,000.00 <br />2. Housing Authority Buy Down Program $110,000.00 <br />3. Parkland Acquisition of Green Space $ 33,000.00 <br />4. Neighborhood Clean Up $ 50,000.00 <br />5. Household Hazardous Waste Removal $ 25,000.00 <br />6. ADA Accessible Playground $100,000.00 <br />7. Greater San Marcos Youth Council (Van) $ 25,000.00 <br />8. Hays-Caldwell Council on Alcohol and <br />Drug Abuse (Genesis Program) $ 5,000.00 <br />9. Southside Community Center (Van) $ 21,000.00 <br />10. Hays-Caldwell Women's Center (Storage Unit) $ 12,000.00 <br />11. San Marcos Youth Service Bureau <br />(Drop-In Program) $ 12,000.00 <br />12. Willie Mae Mitchell Center (Van) $ 20,000.00 <br />13. Habitat for Humanity Property Acquisition $ 22,000.00 <br /> <br />PART 2. The adoption and publication of the Consolidated Plan for fiscal years <br />2000-2004 is approved. <br /> <br />PART 3. The City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is designated as the official <br />representative of the City and is authorized to act in all matters related to the submission <br />of the final statement, amendments to the final statement, all understandings and <br />assurances contained in the final statement and to provide additional information as <br />required on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 4. <br />passage. <br /> <br />This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its <br /> <br />ADOPTED this the 12th <br /> <br />day of June <br /> <br />,2000. <br />
