<br />RESOLUTION 2000 - 143 R <br /> <br />154. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE ALLOCATION OF 2000 COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING; APPROVING THE <br />CONSOLIDATED PLAN FOR FISCAL YEARS 2000 THROUGH 2004; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT AS THE OFFICIAL <br />REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITY IN MATTERS RELATED TO THE <br />GRANT PROGRAM AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City has received notice from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development (HUD) that entitlement funding has been approved under the Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for specific authorized programs for fiscal year <br />2000. <br /> <br />2. The San Marcos City Council has solicited extensive citizen participation in <br />determining the use of the CDBG entitlement funds. <br /> <br />3. The City is required to approve a Consolidated Plan for the City for fiscal <br />years 2000-2004 which is made up of an Action Plan and a Strategic Plan. <br /> <br />Plan. <br /> <br />4. On June 12, 2000, the City Council approved a draft of the Consolidated <br /> <br />5. In compliance with HUD regulations, a thirty day citizen comment period was <br />held beginning June 19, 2000 and concluding July 18, 2000. <br /> <br />6. The City Council, having considered comments received during the comment <br />period, wishes to approve a final version of the Consolidated Plan, and a final allocation <br />of CDBG funding for 2000. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1.
