Jaime Lee Pettijohn City Clerk CITY OF SAN MARCOS NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO DESIGNATE A TAXINCREMENT FINANCING REINVESTMENT ZONE NO. 5 PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 311, STATE OF TEXAS TAX CODE Notice is hereby given that a public hearing shah be conducted by the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, on December 6, 2011, during the regular City Council meeting scheduled to begin at 7:00 P.M., at the City Hall, 630 East Hopkins Street, San Marcos, Texas 78666, for the City Council to consider (i) the designation of a reinvestment zone no. 5 ( "Zone No. 5 ") for tax increment financing pursuant to Chapter 311 of the Texas Tax Code and (ii) the benefit to the City and the property within the proposed Zone No. 5. The area to be considered for the designation of Zone No. 5 is described in the map labeled Exhibit "A", The purpose of the proposed Zone No. 5 is to encourage reinvestment in the Downtown area, as shown in the attached map, through matching contributions from the City of San. Marcos and Hays County. Proposed projects include redevelopment of tl)e Hays County Justice Center as well as projects related to transit- oriented development.
