Requests <br />can also be sent by e-mail to cityhall@sanmar- <br />costx.gov. <br />Jaime Lee Pettijohn <br />City Clerk <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO DESIGNATE <br />A TAXINCREMENT FINANCING REINVESTMENT ZONE NO. 5 <br />PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 311, STATE OF TEXAS TAX CODE <br />Notice is hereby given that a public hearing shah be conducted by the City <br />Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, on December 6, 2011, during the <br />regular City Council meeting scheduled to begin at 7:00 P.M., at the City Hall, 630 <br />East Hopkins Street, San Marcos, Texas 78666, for the City Council to consider <br />(i) the designation of a reinvestment zone no. 5 ( "Zone No. 5 ") for tax increment <br />financing pursuant to Chapter 311 of the Texas Tax Code and (ii) the benefit to <br />the City and the property within the proposed Zone No. 5. The area to be <br />considered for the designation of Zone No. 5 is described in the map labeled <br />Exhibit "A", The purpose of the proposed Zone No. 5 is to encourage <br />reinvestment in the Downtown area, as shown in the attached map, through <br />matching contributions from the City of San. Marcos and Hays County. Proposed <br />projects include redevelopment of tl)e Hays County Justice Center as well as <br />projects related to transit- oriented development.
