Once these
requirements have been met and your Request For Drawdown (RFD) is processed by the Office ofthe Comptroller
(OC) for payment, you will be provided the start date for the obligation/expenditure period via e-mail; which will
include an electronic Grant Adjustment Notice. You will have exactly 24 months to obligate and expend (pay for
goods and services) all funds, including match and any interest earned. No later than 90 days after the
obligation/expenditure period ends, all unobligated/unexpended funds must be returned to the OJP Office of
lmptroller.

~~antees may not use LLEBG funds to supplant state or local funds.

An example ofLLEBG Program obligation and expenditure policy is provided below:

August 1,2000

September 1, 2000

September 1, 2000 to August 31,
2002

November 29,2002

All direct LLEBG recipients and sub-recipients must establish a trust fund in which to deposit LLEBG program
funds.
