RECITALS: 1. On October 26, 2004, the City Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing regarding a request to change the name of Leah Street from its intersection with State Highway 123 to its intersection with Sunflower Land to West DeZavala Drive; and the Commission voted to approve the request and has recommended that the request be approved by the City Council. 2. The City Council held a public hearing on December 13 request. , 2004 regarding the 3. All requirements of Chapter 74 of the City Code pertaining to street name changes have been meet. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The street name for Leah Street, from its intersection WIth State Highway 123 to its intersection with Sunflower Lane, is changed to West DeZavala Drive. SECTION 2. All ordinances and resolutions or parts of ordinances or resolutions in conflict with this ordinance are repealed. SECTION 3. The importance of this Ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity, and the provisions of the Charter requiring that ordinances be presented at three separate meetings, and that ordinances do not take effect until ten days after the date of final passage are suspended, and this Ordinance will take effect upon publication of notIce of its adoption in a newspaper of general circulation within the City.
