ORDINANCE NO. 2004- 100 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE ORDINANCE THAT REVISED THE APPOINTMENT SCHEDULE FOR CITY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS TO MODIFY THE TRANSITION PROVISIONS FOR CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE LIBRARY BOARD AND THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. RECITALS: 1. The City Clerk adopted an ordinance on October 25, 2004 revising the appointment schedule for City boards and commissions, and the ordinance included a transition provision that the terms of office of board and commission members that were due to expire in 2005 expired instead on December 31, 2004. 2. The effect of this transition provision on current members of the Library Board and Planning and Zoning Commission would be to shorten their terms of office by nine months and ten months, respectively. I 3. The City Council wishes to modify the tral1~dion provision for members of the Library Board and Plmming and Zoning Commission to extend their terms to the end of the calendar year in which their terms were due to expire. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. To effect the changes made to the board and commission appointment process by the ordinance adopted by the City Council on October 25, 2004, the terms of CIty board and commission members are modified as follows: A. The terms of office of all board and commission members, other than members of the Library Board and Planning and Zoning Commission, that are currently due to expire between November 1,2004 and December 31,2005 shall expire instead on December 31, 2004; B. The terms of office of all members of the Library Board and Planning and Zoning Commission that are currently due to expire between October 1, 2004 and November 30, 2005 shall expire instead on December 31,2005; I C. The terms of office of all board and commission members, other than members of the Library Board and Planning and Zoning Commission, that are currently due to expire between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2006 shall expire instead on December 31, 2005;
