The City Clerk adopted an ordinance on October 25, 2004 revising the appointment <br />schedule for City boards and commissions, and the ordinance included a transition provision <br />that the terms of office of board and commission members that were due to expire in 2005 <br />expired instead on December 31, 2004. <br /> <br />2. The effect of this transition provision on current members of the Library Board and <br />Planning and Zoning Commission would be to shorten their terms of office by nine months <br />and ten months, respectively. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />3. The City Council wishes to modify the tral1~dion provision for members of the <br />Library Board and Plmming and Zoning Commission to extend their terms to the end of the <br />calendar year in which their terms were due to expire. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. To effect the changes made to the board and commission appointment <br />process by the ordinance adopted by the City Council on October 25, 2004, the terms of CIty <br />board and commission members are modified as follows: <br /> <br />A. The terms of office of all board and commission members, other than members of <br />the Library Board and Planning and Zoning Commission, that are currently due to expire <br />between November 1,2004 and December 31,2005 shall expire instead on December 31, <br />2004; <br /> <br />B. The terms of office of all members of the Library Board and Planning and Zoning <br />Commission that are currently due to expire between October 1, 2004 and November 30, <br />2005 shall expire instead on December 31,2005; <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />C. The terms of office of all board and commission members, other than members of <br />the Library Board and Planning and Zoning Commission, that are currently due to expire <br />between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2006 shall expire instead on December 31, 2005; <br />
