Womack <br />Mark Taylor <br />Laurie Anderson <br />Carol Barrett <br />Tom Taggart <br />Collette Jamison <br /> <br />Also present: Tom Wassenich, Todd Derkacz, Betsy Robertson, Ed Theriot, <br />I Stephanie Garcia, Shelley Goodwin and others. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced a public hearing to receive comments and discuss <br />the proposed Land Development Code. Mayor Narvaiz opened the public <br />hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. 1) Jack Fairchild stated he <br />was the Chairman of the Board of the San Marcos River Foundation. He <br />encouraged the Council to adopt the Ordinance quickly. He stated he is <br />concerned with the Section regarding the runoff into the river, which <br />could affect the water quality downstream. He also stated the Section <br />regarding the Tree Ordinance is weak. 2) Tom Wassenich stated the Tree <br />Ordinance needs to discourage tree removal from along the riverbanks. He <br />stated removal of trees along the river can increase the erosion of the <br />river banks, which increases flooding. 3) Greg Griffith stated he is a <br />member of the Parks and Recreation Board. He stated the Land Development <br />Code is a wonderful document. He encouraged the Council to adopt the <br />Ordinance as it is written. He also stated the Parkland Dedication <br />Section is moderately written. 4) Harvey Savory stated he is the Vice <br />President of the Greater Builders Association. He stated he will complete <br />reviewing the Land Development Code and will provide a detailed list in <br />the next few weeks. Mayor Narvaiz asked if anyone else wished to speak. <br />I No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced a discussion regarding the Final Water Supply <br />Study and direction to Staff.
