Mayor Narvaiz also stated Tax Anticipation Notes allow a reduced-cost in the I beginning of the project, and the City can explore the option to refinance the project in 4 or 5 years. On roll call for adoption of the Resolution, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Diaz, Guerrero, Mihalkanin, Narvaiz and Taylor. NAY: Thomaides and Bose. ABSTAIN: None. Mayor Narvaiz introduced a public hearing to receive input regarding the City of San Marcos general election date (City's current election date: 1st Saturday in May. State law authorizes change to 1st Tuesday after 1st Monday in November). Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. 1) Tom Wassenich encouraged the Council to retain the May election date. He stated he feels a November election date will create a partisan election. Mayor Narvaiz asked if anyone else wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing.
