<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />149. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 200<:- 198 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A LETTER AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE GUADALUPE-BLANCO <br />RIVER AUTHORITY TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE WATER <br />TREATMENT PLANT OPERATION CONTRACT; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE <br />AGREEMENT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority ("GBRA") operates the City's surface water <br />treatment plant under the San Marcos Regional Surface Water Treatment Plant Operation Contract <br />dated May 11, 1999, as amended by the letter agreement between the City and GBRA dated <br />December 9, 2003 (together, the "Operation Contract"). <br /> <br />2. The City is in the process of negotiating with proponents for a new contract for operation <br />of the water treatment plant, and has requested that the term of the Operation Contract be extended <br />so that these negotiations may be concluded before the termination of the Operation Contract. <br /> <br />3. GBRA is willing to extend the term of the Operation Contract as requested by the City. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />P ART 1. The attached letter agreement between the City of San Marcos and the Guadalupe- <br />Blanco River Authonty to extend the term of the Operation Contract is approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute the attached letter <br />agreement on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 3.
