Youth <br />members must be at least 14 years of age. Youth members and the Gary Job Corps <br />student member are appointed for terms of one year, and are exempt from the limitations <br />on serving successive terms of office in Section 2.068 of this Code. Members will serve <br />until their successors are appointed and qualified. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Section 2.363(d) of the City Code is amended as follows (underlining <br />indicates added text; overstrike indicates deleted text): <br /> <br />Sec. 2.63 Powers and duties <br /> <br />*** <br /> <br />(d) The youth commission will also: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />coordinate with other governmental entitles, and WIth private CItizens, <br />institutions and agencies regarding programs and services to aid senior citizens in <br />the city; aOO <br /> <br />(2) develop programs to recognize achievement and contribution to the San Marcos <br />community by youth7 ; and <br /> <br />(3) organize the Youth Hall of Fame Awards. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. In connection with the changes made to the composition of the Youth <br />Commission by this ordinance, the City Council wishes to make new appointments to all <br />positions on the Commission. For this reason, the City Council concludes the terms of office of <br />all present members of the Youth Commission, and the City Council will make new <br />appointments to fill all positions on the Youth Commission, as composed in this ordinance, as <br />soon as possible. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. If any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or paragraph of this ordinance is <br />held to be unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the other provisions <br />of this ordinance will continue in force if they can be given effect without the invalid portion. <br /> <br />SECTION 5. All ordinances and resolution or parts of ordinances or resolutions in <br />conflict with this ordinance are repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 6.
