The Sunset Advisory Commission, in its June 14, 2004 report to the City Council, has <br />recommended that the City Council retire the Electrical Board, consolidate the duties of the <br />Electrical Board into the Construction Board of Appeals and change the composition of the <br />Construction Board of Appeals. <br /> <br />2. The City Council wishes to implement thIS recommendation of the Sunset Advisory <br />Commission. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />3. The City Council wishes to appoint new Construction Board of Appeals members <br />to take effect simultaneously with the change in composition. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Division 3, Electrical Board, of Chapter 14, Article 10 of the City Code is <br />repealed, and the Electrical Board is retired. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Section 14.026 of the City Code is amended as follows (underlining <br />indicates added text; o','crstrike indicates deleted text): <br /> <br />Sec. 14.026. Amendments. <br /> <br />***** <br /> <br />Construction Board of Appeals <br /> <br />112.1 General. There is hereby established a board to be called the construction board of <br />appeals, which is appointed by the city council. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />112.2 Membership. The board consists of five regalar seven members and t\'IO alternate <br />membcrs. The fivc regular seven members are composed of one master plumber, one <br />master HV AC contractor, one master electrician, one commercial builder, one residential <br />builder, one building design professional (such as an architect, engineer or designer), and <br />one citizen at-large.
