<br />72. <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />September 27, 2004 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />the Sales Tax Report this last quarter shows an increase of 32 percent. I <br />3) Mr. O'Leary stated the City's new website is up and running. He also <br />stated soon citizens will be able to pay their utility bills online. He <br />also stated there is a new domain name www.sanmarcostexas.us. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of three appointments <br />to the Arts Commission. Mr. Thomaides stated he would like these <br />appointments to be rescheduled until he can contact two citizens who are <br />interested in serving on this commission. Mayor Narvaiz also stated she <br />would like to hold a discussion with the Arts Commission and to review the <br />Ordinance and then make the appointments. The Council agreed by consensus <br />to reschedule these appointments the next Regular Meeting scheduled on <br />October 11, 2004. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to <br />the Blue Ribbon Bond Committee. Mr. Thomaides moved to appoint Torn <br />Wassenich, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the <br />caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS I <br />APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY, I <br />HAYS COUNTY AND THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL <br />DISTRICT FOR FUNDING FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO OLD BASTROP ROAD; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT; AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved for adoption of the Resolution with amendments <br />requested by San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District, and Mr. <br />Taylor seconded the motion. Mr. O'Leary stated this Resolution is for <br />public improvements for the new high school site. He stated this project <br />will improve of the intersection, turn lanes and light synchronization. <br />The Council voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. Dr. Perez, <br />Superintendent of San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District, <br />thanked the Council and stated the number one issue for the school is <br />safety. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the <br />caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION <br />APPROVING A <br />REGARDING A <br />DECLARING AN <br /> <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH MR. JOHN Q. HAMMONSI <br />PROPOSED HOTEL AND CONFERENCE CENTER PROJECT; AND <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />
