<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS
<br />AND CONDITIONS OF A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION
<br />OF SIDEWALKS IN THE VICTORY GARDENS SECTION
<br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID OF
<br />E-Z BEL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. OF SAN
<br />ANTONIO, TEXAS, FOR SAID CONSTRUCTION PROJECT;
<br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE
<br />SAID CONTRACT WITH E-Z BEL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY,
<br />INC. AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas,
<br />having found a need for sidewalks in the Victory Gardens section
<br />of San Marcos, Texas, desires to have said sidewalks constructed
<br />in connection with the Victory Gardens Phase II project; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said City advertised in the San Marcos Daily Rec-
<br />ord for competitive bids on a proposed contract for said construc-
<br />tion; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, on January 19, 1982, at 10:00 a.m. all bids re-
<br />ceived for said construction project were duly opened at San
<br />Marcos City Hall; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the bid of E-Z Bel Construction Company, Inc., was
<br />Twenty Two Thousand Four Hundred Eighty six Dollars and Forty
<br />Cents ($22,486.40); and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said bid of E-Z Bel Construction Company, Inc., was
<br />the lowest bid submitted; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said company has been recommended for said project
<br />by Bill McCauley, Public Works Superintendent-Engineering for
<br />the City of San Marcos, Texas, and Kelly Kilber, project engineer;
<br />now, therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br />PART 1. That the bid of E-Z Bel Construction Company, Inc.
<br />of San Antonio, Texas, in the amount of Twenty Two Thousand,
<br />Four Hundred Eighty Six Dollars and Forty Cents ($22,486.40), for
<br />construction of sidewalks in the Victory Gardens area of the
<br />Ci ty of San Marcos, Texas, (HUD Community Development Block Grant
<br />No. B-79-DS-48-0508), is hereby accepted.
<br />
<br />PART 2. That the contract with E-Z Bel Construction Com-
<br />pany, Inc., of San Antonio, Texas, for construction of said side-
<br />walks, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City
<br />Secretary of said City, is hereby approved in all respects.
<br />
<br />PART 3. That the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas,
<br />is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the
<br />City of San Marcos.
<br />
<br />PART 4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and
<br />effect from and after its adoption.
<br />
