<br />certificates may be redeemed prior to their scheduled maturities, all <br />as provided and in the manner indicated in the FORM OF CERTIFICATE set <br />forth in this ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 5. The form of said certificates, including the form of <br />registration certificate of the Comptroller of Public Accounts of the <br />State of Texas to be printed and endorsed on each of said certificates, <br />and the form of the aforesaid interest coupons which shall appertain <br />and be attached initially to each of said certificates, shall be, <br />respectively, substantially as follows: <br /> <br />FORM OF CERTIFICATE <br /> <br />$5,000 <br /> <br />NO. <br /> <br />UNITED STATES OF AMERICA <br />STATE OF TEXAS <br />COUNTY OF HAYS <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br />COMBINATION TAX AND REVENUE <br />CERTIFICATE OF OBLIGATION <br />SERIES 1982-A <br /> <br />ON AUGUST 1, 19____, THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, in the County of <br />Hays, State of Texas, promises to pay the bearer hereof the principal <br />amount of <br /> <br />FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS <br /> <br />and to pay interest thereon from the date hereof at the rate of % <br />per annum, evidenced by interest coupons payable February 1, 1983~d <br />semiannually thereafter on August 1 and February 1 of each year until <br />the earlier of maturity or prior redemption. <br /> <br />THE PRINCIPAL of and interest on this certificate shall be <br />payable in lawful money of the Uni ted States of Amer ica, wi thout <br />exchange or collection charges to the bearer, upon presentation and <br />surrender of this certificate or proper interest coupon at the HAYS <br />COUNTY NATIONAL BANK, SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, which shall constitute and be <br />defined as the Paying Agent for this series of certificates. <br /> <br />THIS CERTIFICATE is one of a series of certificates of obligation <br />dated as of July 1, 1982, authorized, issued and delivered in the <br />aggregate pr incipal amount of $190,000 for the purpose of paying <br />contractual obligations for additions and improvements to the City's <br />waterworks and sewer system, under and in strict conformity with the <br />Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, including particularly <br />Article 2368a.l, of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, as amended, <br />and pursuant to an ordinance duly passed by the City Council of said <br />City. <br /> <br />ON FEBRUARY 1, 1983, and on any interest payment date thereafter, <br />the outstanding certificates of this series may be redeemed prior to <br />their scheduled maturities, at the option of said City, in whole or <br />from time to time in part, at a price equal to the principal amount <br />plus unpaid accrued interest thereon to the date fixed for redemption. <br />At least thirty days prior to the date fixed for any such redemption, <br />the City shall cause a written notice of such redemption to be filed <br />with the Paying Agent. By the date fixed for any such redemption, due <br />provision shall be made with the Paying Agent for the payment of the <br />required redemption price. If such written notice of redemption is so <br />filed and if due provision for such payment is made, all as provided <br />above, the certificates which are to be so redeemed thereby <br />automatically shall be redeemed prior to their scheduled maturities; <br />and they shall not be regarded as being outstanding except for the <br />purpose of being paid by the Paying Agent with the funds so provided <br />for such payment. <br /> <br />IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED, RECITED AND COVENANTED that the issuance <br />of this certificate and the series of certificates of which it is a <br />
