The form of said certificates, including the form of registration certificate of the Comptroller of Public Accounts of the State of Texas to be printed and endorsed on each of said certificates, and the form of the aforesaid interest coupons which shall appertain and be attached initially to each of said certificates, shall be, respectively, substantially as follows: FORM OF CERTIFICATE $5,000 NO. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF HAYS CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS COMBINATION TAX AND REVENUE CERTIFICATE OF OBLIGATION SERIES 1982-A ON AUGUST 1, 19____, THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, in the County of Hays, State of Texas, promises to pay the bearer hereof the principal amount of FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS and to pay interest thereon from the date hereof at the rate of % per annum, evidenced by interest coupons payable February 1, 1983~d semiannually thereafter on August 1 and February 1 of each year until the earlier of maturity or prior redemption. THE PRINCIPAL of and interest on this certificate shall be payable in lawful money of the Uni ted States of Amer ica, wi thout exchange or collection charges to the bearer, upon presentation and surrender of this certificate or proper interest coupon at the HAYS COUNTY NATIONAL BANK, SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, which shall constitute and be defined as the Paying Agent for this series of certificates. THIS CERTIFICATE is one of a series of certificates of obligation dated as of July 1, 1982, authorized, issued and delivered in the aggregate pr incipal amount of $190,000 for the purpose of paying contractual obligations for additions and improvements to the City's waterworks and sewer system, under and in strict conformity with the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, including particularly Article 2368a.l, of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, as amended, and pursuant to an ordinance duly passed by the City Council of said City. ON FEBRUARY 1, 1983, and on any interest payment date thereafter, the outstanding certificates of this series may be redeemed prior to their scheduled maturities, at the option of said City, in whole or from time to time in part, at a price equal to the principal amount plus unpaid accrued interest thereon to the date fixed for redemption. At least thirty days prior to the date fixed for any such redemption, the City shall cause a written notice of such redemption to be filed with the Paying Agent. By the date fixed for any such redemption, due provision shall be made with the Paying Agent for the payment of the required redemption price. If such written notice of redemption is so filed and if due provision for such payment is made, all as provided above, the certificates which are to be so redeemed thereby automatically shall be redeemed prior to their scheduled maturities; and they shall not be regarded as being outstanding except for the purpose of being paid by the Paying Agent with the funds so provided for such payment.
