<br />AMENDMENT NO.2 TO <br />CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> <br />The Contract for Engineering Services entered into on the 7th day of May, <br />1979, by the CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS and FREESE AND NICHOLS, INC. shall <br />be amended as set forth hereinunder. The said Contract is attached as <br />Exhibit A. <br /> <br />Section 2. Character and Extent of Engineering Services <br /> <br />Add g. Additi.onal Services <br /> <br />Alternative design concepts shall be developed for the main lift <br />station considering utilization of existing plans developed in 1979 <br />with necessary modifications versus a complete new design based on <br />current data and criteria. The alternative of incorporating the <br />existing lift station into the design alternatives will also be <br />explored. Cost estimates for construction and operation and <br />recommendations will be included in the scope of work in developing the <br />al ternati ves. <br /> <br />Section 3. Compensation to Engineer <br />b. Designs, Plans and Specifications <br /> <br />Delete the following: <br /> <br />The compensation for services in connection with furnishing Step II <br />design, plans and specifications as presented in Paragraph 2.D shall be <br />determined by mutual consent at the time an application is submitted by <br />the Owner for Step II grant funds. <br /> <br />Add the following: <br /> <br />The Engineer shall be compensated a 1 ump sum of $308,664 (Three hundred <br />eight thousand six hundred sixty-four dollars) for services described <br />in Section 2b. above, excluding the main lift station. <br /> <br />Add d. Additional Services <br /> <br />The compensation for the Additional Services outlined in Section 2.g. <br />shall be as follows: <br /> <br />The Engineer shall be compensated on the basis of the actual salary <br />cost of all personnel required times a multiplier of 2.3 for office <br />personnel. Salary cost is defined as the cost of salaries of <br />engi neers, draftsmen, sten09ri'lphers, surveymen, cl erks, 1 aborers, etc., <br />for time directly chargeable to the project, plus social security <br />contributions, unemployment compensation insurance, retirement <br />benefits, medical and insurance benefits, sick leave, vacation and <br />holiday pay applicable thereto. (Salary cost is equal to 1.39 times <br />salary payments for 1982. This factor is adjusted annually.) The <br />Engineer shall also be paid the actual direct expense of providing such <br />
