<br />22 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1982-49R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DECLARING THE <br />INTENT OF SAID COUNCIL THAT THERE BE CLOSE <br />COOPERATION AND COMMUNICATION BETWEEN MEMBERS <br />OF THE SAN MARCOS PLANNING COMMISSION AND <br />THE SAN MARCOS ZONING COMMISSION; ESTABLISHING <br />A PROCEDURE TO FOSTER SUCH COOPERATION; DIRECT- <br />ING THAT NOTICE OF THIS RESOLUTION BE DELIVERED <br />TO EACH MEMBER OF SAID COMMISSIONS AND DECLAR- <br />ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Article VII of the San Marcos City Charter <br />establishes separate bodies for planning and zoning in said <br />City beginning October 1, 1982; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos <br />believes it to be imperative that there be close cooperation <br />and communication between the two bodies so that the interests <br />of the citizens of said City are accomplished; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Council believes the goal of close coopera- <br />tion and communication between the two bodies can best be <br />achieved if each commission ensures that at least one of its <br />members is present at each meeting of the other commission; <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That it is the intent of the City Council of <br />the City of San Marcos, Texas, that the San Marcos Planning <br />Commission and the San Marcos Zoning Commission closely cooperate <br />and maintain communication so that the interests of the citizens <br />of San Marcos are properly and comprehensively served in the <br />area of land use control. <br /> <br />PART 2. That the City Council of the City of San Marcos, <br />Texas, hereby requests that the City Planning Commission and <br />the City Zoning Commission each develop internal procedures <br />to ensure that at least one member of each commission be in <br />attendance at each meeting of the other commission for purposes <br />of liaison between the groups. <br /> <br />PART 3. That nothing in this resolution shall be construed <br />to increase the number of members on said commissions,which number <br />is set by the San Marcos City Charter. <br /> <br />PART 4. That notice of this Resolution shall be promptly <br />delivered to each member of the City of San Marcos Planning <br />Commission and each member of the City of San Marcos Zoning <br />Commission. <br /> <br />PART 5.
