<br />I <br /> <br />Section 2.546. Designated use of the municipal court security fee and <br />administration. <br /> <br />The fees collected under section 2.545 shall be used only to finance security <br />personnel for the municipal court, or to finance items used for the purpose of <br />providing security services for the building that houses the municipal court, <br />including: <br /> <br />(1) the purchase or repair of X-ray machines and conveying systems; <br /> <br />(2) handheld metal detectors; <br /> <br />(3) walkthrough metal detectors; <br /> <br />(4) identification cards and systems; <br /> <br />(5) electronic locking and surveillance equipment; <br /> <br />(6) bailiffs, deputy sheriffs, deputy constables, or contract security <br />personnel during times when they are providing appropriate security services; <br /> <br />(7) <br />(8) <br /> <br />slgnage; <br /> <br />confiscated weapon inventory and tracking systems; <br /> <br />(9) locks, chains, alarms, or similar security devices; <br /> <br />(10) the purchase or repair of bullet-proof glass; and, <br /> <br />(11) continuing education on security issues for court personnel and <br />security personnel. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Pursuant to Article 102.017 of the Texas Code of Criminal <br />Procedure, the City Council establishes the amount of the Municipal Court Security Fee <br />at $3.00. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. If any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or paragraph of this <br />ordinance is held to be unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, <br />the other provisions of this ordinance will continue in force if they can be given effect <br />without the invalid portion. <br /> <br />SECTION 4.
