<br />85. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1999--11..R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING THE RESOLUTION THAT <br />ESTABLISHED A BOND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE IN <br />CONNECTION WITH BONDS APPROVED IN THE NOVEMBER 3, <br />1998 SPECIAL CITY ELECTION; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The San Marcos Council of Neighborhood Associations has requested the City <br />Council to establish an oversight committee regarding the bonds recently approved by the <br />voters at the November 3, 1998 special election. <br /> <br />2. The City Council adopted a resolution on December 7, 1998 establishing a Bond <br />Oversight Committee, and the Council wishes to amend that resolution to clarify the duties <br />and role of the Committee (underlining in the text below indicates added language and <br />overstrike indicates deleted language). <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. A Bond Oversight Committee is established in connection with the bonds <br />recently approved by the voters at the November 3, 1998 special election and other <br />proiects recommended by the 1997-98 Blue Ribbon Bond Committee. fftts- The Bond <br />Oversight Committee consists of seven members appointed by the City Council. One of <br />the members will represent the San Marcos Council of Neiqhborhood Associations. one <br />will represent the Greenbelt Alliance of San Marcos. two will have served on the 1997-98 <br />Blue Ribbon Bond Committee. and all will be residents of the City. Members of the <br />Committee serve at the will of the Council. The Council will make appointments to fill <br />vacancies on the Committee. <br /> <br />PART 2. The purpose of the Committee is to serve as an advisory body to the City <br />Council on the implementation of the projects included in the bonds approved by the voters <br />at the November 3, 1998 special election. The Committee will be staffed by ~he Director <br />of the Public Works Department and/or the Director of the Environment and Engineering <br />Department. The Committee will meet monthly and will: <br /> <br />· receive copies of staff reports concerning progress of the projects <br /> <br />· provide advice to the City Council on the projects with respect to the proiects being <br />completed in a timelv manner and within budgeted funds <br /> <br />· be authorized to visit the sites of the projects <br /> <br />PART 3.
