<br />151 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1999- 33 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING AN EMERGENCY MONTH TO MONTH EXTENSION <br />OF THE FLEET CARD MANAGEMENT SERVICES CONTRACT WITH <br />DIAMOND SHAMROCK REFINING AND MARKETING COMPANY; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACT <br />DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City's contract with Diamond Shamrock Refining and Marketing <br />Company (the "Contractor") for fleet card management services will expire on February 28, <br />1999. <br /> <br />2. The City's Purchasing Manager is on an extended leave of absence and is <br />unable to prepare the necessary paperwork to re-bid this contract. <br /> <br />3. It is necessary to enter into a month to month agreement to extend the <br />original contract without formal competitive bidding in order to in order to preserve and <br />protect the public health and safety of the City's residents. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The attached letter agreement for a month to month extension of the <br />Fleet Card Management System Contract with Diamond Shamrock Refining and Marketing <br />Company located in San Antonio, Texas is approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Larry Gilley, is hereby authorized to execute the <br />agreement on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and <br />after its passage. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this the 22nd day of February 1999. <br /> <br />~)i:?
