112. <br />RESOLUTION 2006 - g 3 R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION <br />TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ("TXDOT") FOR <br />FY 2006/2007 AND FY 2007/2008 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM <br />("CIP") GRANT FUNDING; APPROVING THE CITY'S EXPENDITURE OF <br />LOCAL MATCHING FUNDS CONTINGENT UPON THE CITY COUNCIL'S <br />APPROVAL OF THE APPROPRIATION OF THOSE MATCHING DOLLARS <br />IN THE CITY'S 2006/2007 AND 2007/2008 FY BUDGETS; AUTHORIZING <br />THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S BEHALF WITH REGARD <br />TO THE SUBMISSION OF THIS APPLICATION AND ALL CONTRACTS <br />AND AGREEMENTS WITH TXDOT AND OTHER PARTIES AS <br />NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE IMPROVEMENTS TO <br />THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City of San Marcos (the "City") intends to make certain improvements to the <br />San Marcos Municipal Airport, the general description of which includes the apron rehabilitation <br />design and construction and Runway 17-35 overlay design and construction. <br />2. The City intends to request financial assistance from the Texas Department of <br />Transportation ("TxDOT") for these improvements. <br />3. The total project costs for the apron rehabilitation included in the FY2006/2007 <br />proposed Airport Budget are estimated to be $1,000,000.00 and the City understands that it will <br />be responsible for 10% of the total project costs currently estimated to be $100,000.00. <br />4. The total project costs for the Runway 17-35 overlay project included in the <br />2006/2007 and 2007/2008 FY proposed Airport Budgets are estimated to be $170,000.00, and <br />$2,230,000.00 respectively and the City understands that it will be responsible for 10% of the <br />total project costs currently estimated to be $17,000.00 for FY2006/2007 and $223,000.00 for <br />FY2007/2008. <br />RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS <br />PART 1. The City hereby requests funding for FY2006/2007 and FY2007/2008 CIP <br />Grant Funding from TXDOT for improvements to the San Marcos Municipal Airport. <br />PART 2. The City's expenditure of approximately 10% of the total project costs <br />included in the for FY 2006/2007 and FY 2007/2008 Airport Budgets is approved contingent <br />upon the City Council's approval of the appropriation of those matching dollars in the City's FY <br />
