I I I I I I STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF HAYS I ~ THIS AGREEMENT made, entered into and executed this the ,;; 9'!~ day of ~ 1./ ir:::, {to f- , 1979, by and between the City of San Marcos, Texas, ...' hereinafter called the II City II , and S. Craiq Hollmiq, Inc., a Texas Corporation of the City of New Braunfels, Carnal County, Texas, hereinafter called the"Con- sultant". It is understood that the City intends to install traffic signals at the following intersections: (1) Edward Gary Street at Hopkins Street (Modification) (2) Thorpe Lane at Bugg Lane (New Installation) (3) Broadway Street at State Highway 123 (New Installation) Such improvements being referred to as the "Project". The City agrees to employ the Consultant, and the Consultant agrees to perform professional services in connection with the Project in accordance with sound engineering principles. The Consultant shall render the following professional services necessary for the development of the Project: Preliminary Phase: 1) Attend preliminary conferences with the City regarding the Project. 2) Prepare a preliminary engineering study and report on the Project, in sufficient detail to indicate clearly the problems involved and the alternate solutions available to the City; to include preliminary layouts, sketches, and cost estimates for the Project, and to set forth clearly the Consultant1s recommendations. Design Phase: 1) Perform field surveys necessary to collect information required in the design of the Project. 2) Plan and supervise other surveys, soil borings, foundation investiga- tions and tests as may be required for design. 3) Furnish to the City, the engineering data necessary for applications for permits required by local, state, and federal authorities. 4) Prepare detailed contract drawings and specifications for construction authorized by the City. These designs shall in all respects, combine the application of sound engineering principles with a high degree of economy and shall be submitted to the applicable state and federal agencies for approval. 5) Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals of authorized construction, which shall include summaries of bid items and quantities based, insofar as practicable, on the unit price system of bidding.
