<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />STATE OF TEXAS <br />COUNTY OF HAYS <br /> <br />I <br />~ <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT made, entered into and executed this the ,;; 9'!~ day of <br />~ 1./ ir:::, {to f- , 1979, by and between the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br /> <br />...' <br />hereinafter called the II City II , and S. Craiq Hollmiq, Inc., a Texas Corporation <br /> <br />of the City of New Braunfels, Carnal County, Texas, hereinafter called the"Con- <br /> <br />sultant". <br /> <br />It is understood that the City intends to install traffic signals at the <br />following intersections: (1) Edward Gary Street at Hopkins Street (Modification) <br />(2) Thorpe Lane at Bugg Lane (New Installation) <br />(3) Broadway Street at State Highway 123 (New Installation) <br /> <br />Such improvements being referred to as the "Project". <br /> <br />The City agrees to employ the Consultant, and the Consultant agrees to <br /> <br />perform professional services in connection with the Project in accordance <br /> <br />with sound engineering principles. <br /> <br />The Consultant shall render the following professional services necessary <br /> <br />for the development of the Project: <br /> <br />Preliminary Phase: <br /> <br />1) Attend preliminary conferences with the City regarding the Project. <br /> <br />2) Prepare a preliminary engineering study and report on the Project, <br />in sufficient detail to indicate clearly the problems involved and <br />the alternate solutions available to the City; to include preliminary <br />layouts, sketches, and cost estimates for the Project, and to set forth <br />clearly the Consultant1s recommendations. <br /> <br />Design Phase: <br /> <br />1) Perform field surveys necessary to collect information required in <br />the design of the Project. <br /> <br />2) Plan and supervise other surveys, soil borings, foundation investiga- <br />tions and tests as may be required for design. <br /> <br />3) Furnish to the City, the engineering data necessary for applications <br />for permits required by local, state, and federal authorities. <br /> <br />4) Prepare detailed contract drawings and specifications for construction <br />authorized by the City. These designs shall in all respects, combine <br />the application of sound engineering principles with a high degree of <br />economy and shall be submitted to the applicable state and federal <br />agencies for approval. <br /> <br />5) Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals of authorized construction, <br />which shall include summaries of bid items and quantities based, insofar <br />as practicable, on the unit price system of bidding. <br />
