VERN1ENDI LEAGUE NO. TWO; <br />LOCATED AT PARKDALE DRIVE AND BROADWAY, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE <br />FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "D" (MULTI-FAMILY). <br /> <br />AND <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen opened a Public Hearing to discuss the requested zoning change <br />and reported that the applicant, C. R. Development (Kelly Kilber, agent) <br />had requested that the item be withdrawn. No persons were present to <br />present objections although the record contains petitions of objection. <br />The Planning & Zoning Commission recommended denial. The applicant, Larry Roden, was not present. No objections <br />were presented. Joe Garza, City Planner, reported that the Planning <br />& Zoning Commission recommended approval and that the zoning change <br />was in conformance with the Master Plan. Mr. Cavazos moved the Ordinance <br />be approved on first reading. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO. TWO; LOCATED <br />AT 703 UHLAND ROAD FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO <br />"c" (COHIo1ERCIAL). <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider the requested zoning change. <br />The applicant, Isabel DeLeon, informed the Council that he needed the <br />zoning change to continue operating a machine shop on the premises. Mr. <br />Tenorio asked staff to determine whether the use was classified as comm- <br />ercial or industrial and if utility service was adequate. The City I <br />Manager reported that utilities were available. Mr. Gonzalez also <br />told the Council, that, while the Planning and Zoning Commission had <br />recommended approval of the zoning change, the staff could not <br />recommend the change feeling that it represented an encroachment into <br />a residential neighborhood. Mr. James moved to approve the Ordinance <br />on first reading. !1r. Cavazos seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br />
