<br />- 2 - <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />B. Engineer shall perform the followin9 services: <br />1) Advise City of any soil and foundation in- <br />vestigations or any special surveys or special <br />testing which, in the opinion of Engineer, may <br />be required for proper execution of Project; and <br />arrange with City for conduct of such investiga- <br />tions and tests. <br />2) Notify City of any utility adjustments necessary <br />to completion of Project and provide detailed <br />dra'vings for relocation or replacement of those <br />utilities. <br />3) Notify City of any easements needed to complete <br />Project and provide drawings establishing boundaries. <br />4) Provide staking establishing construction stations <br />and reference points typically provided in similar <br />phases of construction work. <br />5) Perform field surveys, and where necessary site <br />topography required to collect information needed <br />in design of the project. <br />6) Furnish to City when necessary the engineering <br />data necessary for application for permits re- <br />quired by local, state and federal authorities, <br />grants or planning advances, provided that such <br />data need not extend beyond that actually developed <br />in the performance of the other convenants in this <br />agreement. <br />7) Prepare detailed contract drawings, on drafting <br />vellum or mylar film and/or on photographic re- <br />producible mylar film; and prepare specifications. <br />These designs shall in all respects combine the <br />application of sound engineering principles with <br />a high degree of economy. Designs shall be sub- <br />mitted by Engineer to all applicable state and <br />federal agencies for approval. <br />8) Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals <br />of authorized construction, which shall include <br />summaries of bid items and quantities which will <br />be based, whenever practical, on the unit price <br />system of biddinq. <br />9) Prior to actual printing and delivering of the <br />final plans and specifications, submit a copy <br />to City for preliminary review and comments. <br />10) Make approved modifications and additions to <br />the contract drawings resulting from City's <br />preliminary review. <br />11) Furnish twenty (20) copies of approved contract <br />drawings and specifications to City. All sets of <br />plans in excess of twenty (20) shall be paid for <br />separately. <br />12) Prepare the final plans so that corrections <br />and/or additions may be made as construction <br />work progresses. <br />13) Prepare a detailed statement of engineering <br />costs as related to Project in accordance with <br />Article IV, B and Article VI of this agreement. <br />14) Prepare recommendation regarding award of the <br />contract. <br />15) Make periodic visits to the site to observe as <br />an experienced and qualified design professional <br />the progress and quality of the executed work, <br />and to determine in general if the work is pro- <br />ceeding in accordance with the plans and speci- <br />fications; Engineer shall not be required to make <br />exhaustive or continuous on-site inspections to <br />check the quality or quantity of the work; Engineer <br />shall not be responsible for the means, methods, <br />techniques, sequences or procedures of construction <br />selected by the contractor of the safety precautions <br />and programs incident to the work of the contractor. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />
