Mr. Cavazos moved <br />to adopt the Ordinance on emergency. Mr. James seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration rescheduling of the next regular <br />meeting which would be scheduled for May 26th, which is a City Holiday. <br />Mr. Cavazos moved to reschedule the meeting to May 19th. Mr. James seconded <br />the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: Brown, Cavazos, James, Kraus, Stokes <br /> <br />NAY: Norris, Tenorio <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a briefing by the City Manager <br />concerning the School District. Mr. Gonzalez reported that City Staff <br />had met with school district staff to discuss mutual concerns and jointly <br />sponsored programs. He said representatives would continue to meet on <br />a quarterly basis. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a discussion of annual budget process <br />The City Manager gave a report on the process the Staff proposed to follow <br />which would result in a program oriented budget. Mrs. Norris sa~d the <br />Council should be informed when specific ideas were involved. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for cQnsideration acceptance of an alley in Block <br />24 of the Westover Addition. Mr. Stokes said he felt the Council should <br />abandon this alley since only one person owns the whole block. Mr. Kraus <br />moved to accept the alley. Mr. Stokes seconded the motion. On roll call, <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: Cavazos, James, Kraus, Norris, Stokes, Tenorio <br /> <br />NAY: Brown <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration pending and contemplated litigation. <br />Mr. Cavazos moved the Council retire into executive session at 10:55 p.m. <br />Mr. James seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council <br />reconvened at 11:30 p.m. in regular session. The Mayor introduced for <br />consideration a Resolution having the following caption: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A CROSS.....BILL PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 3269 <br />TEXAS REVISED CIVIL STATUTES; AUTHORIZING THE DEPOSIT OF SECURITY____ <br />SET PURSUANT TO SAID SECTION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. c--- <br /> <br />Mr. James moved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration payment of a claim for damages <br />asserted against the City. Mr. Cavazos moved to allocate $350 in settlement <br />of this claim.
