Mr. Cavazos moved to adopt the Ordinance on emergency. Mr. James seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced for consideration rescheduling of the next regular meeting which would be scheduled for May 26th, which is a City Holiday. Mr. Cavazos moved to reschedule the meeting to May 19th. Mr. James seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: I AYE: Brown, Cavazos, James, Kraus, Stokes NAY: Norris, Tenorio The Mayor introduced for consideration a briefing by the City Manager concerning the School District. Mr. Gonzalez reported that City Staff had met with school district staff to discuss mutual concerns and jointly sponsored programs. He said representatives would continue to meet on a quarterly basis. The Mayor introduced for consideration a discussion of annual budget process The City Manager gave a report on the process the Staff proposed to follow which would result in a program oriented budget. Mrs. Norris sa~d the Council should be informed when specific ideas were involved. The Mayor introduced for cQnsideration acceptance of an alley in Block 24 of the Westover Addition. Mr. Stokes said he felt the Council should abandon this alley since only one person owns the whole block. Mr. Kraus moved to accept the alley. Mr. Stokes seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: I AYE: Cavazos, James, Kraus, Norris, Stokes, Tenorio NAY: Brown The Mayor introduced for consideration pending and contemplated litigation. Mr. Cavazos moved the Council retire into executive session at 10:55 p.m. Mr. James seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council reconvened at 11:30 p.m. in regular session. The Mayor introduced for consideration a Resolution having the following caption: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A CROSS.....BILL PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 3269 TEXAS REVISED CIVIL STATUTES; AUTHORIZING THE DEPOSIT OF SECURITY____ SET PURSUANT TO SAID SECTION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. c--- Mr. James moved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced for consideration payment of a claim for damages asserted against the City. Mr. Cavazos moved to allocate $350 in settlement of this claim. Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
