<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />141 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1980-31R <br /> <br />ORDER DECLARING RESULT OF SPECI'AL CITY ELECTION <br /> <br />THE STATE OF TEXAS X <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS X <br /> <br />On this the 12th day of May, 1980, the City Council of the City <br />of San Marcos, Texas, convened in Regular Session, open to the <br />public, at the regular meeting place thereof with the following <br />members present, to-wit: John A. Hansen, Mayor, Council Members <br />Ted Breihan, Robert L. Cavazos, Berry R. James, Kenneth E. Sutton, <br />Gilbert G. Tenorio; and City Secretary, Doriss Hambrick; and <br />the following members absent: None, constituting a quorum, and <br />among other proceedings had were the following: <br /> <br />Mayor Hansen introduced a Resolution and Order. Council Member <br />Stokes moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Council Member Tenorio and the motion, carrying with it the <br />adoption of the Resolution and Order prevailed by the following <br />vote: <br /> <br />AYE: Breihan, Cavazos, Hansen, James, Stokes, Sutton, <br />Tenorio <br /> <br />NAY: <br /> <br />The Resolution is as follows: <br /> <br />There carne on to be considered the returns of an election held on <br />the 10th day of May, 1980, for the purpose of electing the hereinafter <br />named officials, and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally <br />made, that there were cast at said election 2315 valid and legal <br />votes; that each of the candidates in said election received the <br />following votes: <br /> <br />FOR MAYOR <br /> <br />NAME OF CANDIDATE <br /> <br />TOTAL NUMBER OF VOTES <br /> <br />Kenneth V. Kraus <br />Kenneth L. Long <br /> <br />1206 <br />1039 <br /> <br />FOR COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 1 <br /> <br />Karl W. Brown <br />Fred Guerra <br /> <br />1305 <br />965 <br /> <br />FOR COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 2 <br /> <br />John A. Kreczmer <br />Tess Norris <br /> <br />1007 <br />1154 <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was <br />given in accordance with law, and that said election was given in accordance <br />with law, and that Kenneth V. Kraus was duly elected Mayor, Karl W. <br />Brown was duly elected Council Member Place 1 and that Tess Norris was <br />duly elected Council Member Place 2 at said election and Mr. Kraus, Mr. <br />Brown and Ms. Norris are hereby declared duly elected to those offices, <br />subject to the taking pf their oaths. <br />I <br />
