I

I

--

22

ll€ CITY
S4N MN<COS

June 9, 1980

Dear Mayor Kraus:

Please be advised that I will not be voting on Agenda
Items #6 and #7 at the June 9, 1980 City Council Regular
Meeting.

Item #6 pertains to the approval of an agreement with
San Marcos Baptist Academy. I must decline to vote on the
matter due to the fact that I have a conflict of interest.
Specifically, Stokes & Searcy Agency, Inc., an insurance
agency I am associated with, currently handles the insurance
account for the Academy. Although I am not directly involved
in the solicitation of this account I am aware that the
account exists and consider that it would be a conflict of
interest if I voted on this matter.

Item #7 pertains to action on a payment due to Scheib
Opportunity Center. As partner of T.D. Enterprises, an entity
that has a lease agreement with Scheib Opportunity Center on
real property owned by T.D. Enterprises, I must abstain on
voting due to the fact that I monetarily benefit as a result
of my contract with Scheib Opportunity Center.

I respectfully request that this statement be included as
part of the minutes of mentioned meeting.

RtCtfUll'1 submitted,

.'6$~/b.~~

Gilbert G.
