I I I 87 RESOLUTION NO. 1980-50B ORDER DECLARING RESULTS OF SPECIAL CITY ELECTION THE STATE OF TEXAS X CITY OF SAN MARCOS X On this the 11th day of August, 1980, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, convened in Regular Session, open to the public, at the regular meeting place thereof with the following members present, to-wit: Kenneth V. Kraus, Mayor, Council Members Karl W. Brown, Robert L. Cavazos, Berry R. James, Tess Norris, John J. Stokes; and City Secretary, Doriss Hambrick; and the following members absent: None, constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings had were the following: Mayor Kraus introduced a Resolution and Order. Council Member moved for its adoption. The motion was seconded by Council Member and the motion, carrying with it the adoption of the Resolution and Order prevailed by the following vote: AYE: NAY: The Resolution is as follows: There came on to be considered the returns of an election held on the 9th day of August, 1980, for the purpose of electing the hereinafter named official, and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates in said election received the following votes: FOR COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 4 (UNEXPIRED TERM) NAME OF CANDIDATE TOTAL NUMBER OF VOTES Lupe R. Cruz Rick Daniels John Pfeffer E. C. "Ed" Tarbutton J. C. Jackson 180 29 38 560 78 That the proposition for a 17% increase ln pay for the firefighters received the following vote: FOR the proposition 584 AGAINST the proposition 221 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was given in accordance with law, and that said election was given in accordance with law, and that E. C. "Ed" Tarbutton was duly elected Council Member, Place 4 at said election and Mr. Tarbutton is hereby declared duly elected to this office, subject to the taking of his oath. That a majority of the legally qualified voters voting in said election voted For the proposition regarding a 17% pay increase for firefighters, and said proposition is hereby declared to have passed. It is further found and determined that ln accordance with the order of this governing body, the Secretary posted notice of this meeting on the bulletin board located in City Hall, a place convenient to the
